Why Sudbury Orthotics?
Sudbury Orthotics, a division of Northern Ontario Foot & Ankle Clinic, is headed by a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with almost 20 years of medical and foot specialist experience. The level of service delivered by our podiatrist is unparalleled in the Greater Sudbury area.
What do Orthotics treat?
In a word; foot pain. But foot pain can have many causes including unsupportive footware or excessive levels of physical activity. However, in our experience at Sudbury Orthotics, the most common cause of foot pain is faulty foot mechanics in parts of the foot, such as the arch and heel.
Do I really NEED Custom Orthotics?
The truth is; we can’t tell you online or over the phone if you need orthotics. Podiatric medicine only works when it’s prescribed correctly. To make sure we treat your foot pain properly, you’ll need to make an appointment and our podiatrist will examine you to determine if orthotics are needed.
How long does an appointment take?
The process for custom orthotics isn’t one visit. Your initial visit with our podiatrist will entail an initial assessment to identify your issues as well as a 3D impression of your feet. After that, your orthotics will be manufactured using CAD/CAM technology then sent back to the podiatrist. Upon receiving your custom orthotics, the doctor will contact you to schedule a fitting.
Will insurance cover my orthotics?
Most extended health care plans will cover your custom orthotics in part or in full. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will make sure all your questions about orthotics are answer up front.
